CCS and MODE Interior Designs win HC&G Bath Design Award

The 2015 Hamptons Cottages & Gardens Innovation in Design Awards – Bath Design

Even though the owner and designer of this Water Mill bath, Mode SB’s principal, is married with young children, she wanted the room to have a masculine tone, while also being luxurious and discreet. The most compelling detail, and one that every judge made note of, is the hovering double vanity, illuminated from below. While acknowledging the bathroom’s “masculine appeal,” judge Kim Seybert enthuses that “a woman would still feel comfortable using it!”

Barrel House Tavern wins IIDA NC Award

The tenth annual IIDA Northern California Chapter Honor Awards program was held last Wednesday at the Fox Theater in Oakland – the awards program aims to encourage new ideas and techniques in the design and furnishing of interior spaces.

Barrel House Tavern was a recipient of the “PLAY” Honor Award, along with Aidlin Darling Design for Chronicle Books. We could not be more thrilled to be in such great company and take home this prestigious award!

Located on one of the most scenic waterfront lots in Sausalito, Barrel House Tavern occupies 5,000 square feet on Bridgeway Avenue. With 140 seats, the restaurant features an enormous Carrera marble bar, a cozy lounge, wood fired pizza oven, and waterfront seating with breathtaking views of the Bay and San Francisco beyond. The building itself has a rich history: Built in the 1900’s, the space was once the original ferry terminal that shuttled passengers from Sausalito to San Francisco before the opening of the Golden Gate Bridge.
