Eating and Drinking our way through The Hamptons

For those of you living on the East Coast, you know that August can be a busy time in the Hamptons. CCS decided to brave the crowds and take a little field trip to visit some of our clients. Here are some of the highlights from our culinary tour.

Townline BBQ

First stop was at Townline BBQ in Sagaponack. This has always been one of our favorite spots – the pulled pork sandwich alone is worth the drive. CCS designed this roadside BBQ joint back in 2007, and it’s been a classic ever since. The ultra-casual design, which relates to the classic BBQ joints found in the South, creates a functional, modern “dive” for on-site dining and take-out.

The renovated building is clad in reclaimed lumber siding and has a galvanized metal roof. The casual, friendly interior makes a great roadside pit-stop to fuel up on your way to the beach.

Nick + Toni’s

Next up was dinner at the newly completed renovation at Nick+Toni’s in East Hampton. CCS completed a complete renovation of the interior, just in time for their 25th anniversary.

dining room

In usual Friday night fashion, the place was packed – but owner, Mark Smith, gave us one of the best seats in the house, out on the front patio. A beautiful summer evening with friends, we had an extraordinary meal that we are still talking about. You can easily see how this has become one of the areas most talked about restaurants . (See article in the New York Times)

Saturday was spent at the beach in East Hampton, getting some well deserved R&R before heading out for one last night on the town.

Meeting House

Last but not least was a quick stop in Amagansett to pay a visit to Meeting House. Located right on Amagansett Square, Meeting House is the true definition of “Hamptons style beach casual”.  Absolutely the best way to spend the afternoon catching up with friends, shopping and enjoying some great food & drink. Meeting House was  actually the first Hamptons restaurant CCS Architecture’s New York studio designed back in 2006, and is always a pleasure to come back to visit.

The Amagansett Square is a quaint, cozy, outdoor shopping area nestled in the heart of Amagansett.

Amagansett Square

Sunday night it was back to the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, this time feeling energized. Amazing how only 2 days in a place just 2-3 hours outside the city can make you feel a world away.
