This new residence in Watermill was named a finalist in Interior Design’s Best of Year Awards #boy2015

The 5,000 sf home is sited on a prime location in Water Mill, south of the highway with partial water views of Mecox Bay.  As a weekend home, it’s designed for casual Hamptons living with family and friends.  The design developed through a creative alliance between Architect Cass Calder Smith, Principal of CCS Architecture, and Designer Sharon Bonnemazou, Principal of Mode SB, who is also the homeowner with her husband.

CCS and MODE Interior Designs win HC&G Bath Design Award

The 2015 Hamptons Cottages & Gardens Innovation in Design Awards – Bath Design

Even though the owner and designer of this Water Mill bath, Mode SB’s principal, is married with young children, she wanted the room to have a masculine tone, while also being luxurious and discreet. The most compelling detail, and one that every judge made note of, is the hovering double vanity, illuminated from below. While acknowledging the bathroom’s “masculine appeal,” judge Kim Seybert enthuses that “a woman would still feel comfortable using it!”

Madrona Residence featured in Luxe Interiors + Design

CCS recently completed this new single family residence in Seattle, Washington, which is featured in the January 2014 issue of Luxe Interiors + Design.

This house was designed as a second home for a Bay Area couple as a summer retreat to spend the warm summer months away from the fog in San Francisco. Built on a steep slope and a narrow lot, this 4000 square foot home is spread over 3 floors, with the master, guest and kids bedroom on the ground floor, and living spaces on the upper floor to take advantage of the views. The main living level includes a large kitchen, dining, and living space, connected to two home offices by way of a bridge that extends across the double height entry. This bridge area acts as a gallery of light, allowing filtered light through the skylights above and down to the entry on the ground level.  All living space takes advantage of grand views of Lake Washington and the city skyline beyond. Two large sliding glass doors open up completely, allowing the living and dining space to extend to the deck outside. On the first floor, in addition to the guest room, a “kids room” welcomes visiting nieces and nephews with bunk beds and their own bathroom. The basement level contains storage, mechanical and a 2 car garage.

CCS, Dwell and Arkitektura.

Back in November, CCS participated in the Dwell Silicon Valley Home Tours. Our good friends at Arkitektura helped create inviting living and family room spaces with their sleek and modern additions from B&B Italia and Minotti. Photographer Paul Dyer captured these spaces beautifully, as illustrated here in these new photographs.

Dwell Silicon Valley Home Tours

CCS participated in the Dwell Silicon Valley Home tours this past weekend, featuring the Los Altos Hills Family Residence which was built in 2008.

Dwell magazine hosted their Silicon Valley Home Tours event this past weekend, on November 3–4, 2012. The weekend featured interesting architecture and people from the Silicon Valley area in California. To kick-off the home tours, Cass Calder Smith spoke at the “Meet the Architects” reception Friday night. This was a great opportunity for everyone to meet the architects participating in the Silicon Valley Home Tours and listen to talks about their work. On Sunday, CCS hosted over 400 guests at our Los Altos Hills Family Residence.
