The Knuckles Sports Bar at the Hyatt Fisherman’s Wharf was remodeled to create a “crossover” restaurant that would appeal to both the regular sports bar clientele and tourist/business guest. The previous concept was an adaptation of a past Italian Restaurant, called the Marbleworks after the original use of the historic building. The main entry lobby had also been recently remodeled, and there was a significant aesthetic split between the old restaurant and new lobby. The project also included the renovation of a “games room” adjacent to the restaurant into a wine lounge.
The design included an update of the overall dining room seating strategy, dividing the room by low partition walls to create a central dining area, the introduction of booths for large parties, and a variety of seating types, including banquettes, 4-tops, booths, casual lounge furniture for continental breakfasts and pre-dinner cocktails, and a community table in the bar area. It also includes a new host stand and wait station made of dark stained Walnut.
