The focus for the design was clear from the very start of this project; to raise the standards of enjoying a cocktail mixed with fresh sea breeze and the visible Gulf on the horizon. The redesign included opening the spacious bar room to the outdoor deck, with wide expanses of sliding glass doors bringing in ample light and air. A band of windows made of etched glass set in painted wood continue the dialogue of light across the bar room and bring a playful hint of movement from the adjacent restaurant.

The inviting bar room is defined by three different programs; a dining area, a media lounge and a drink bar. The suspended wood and bronze back bar glows with illuminated liquor bottles and anchors the luxurious zinc-topped island that almost reaches out into the covered arcade dining area. The bar walls of stained white oak and oil-rubbed bronze echo the casual warmth of home away from home.

On the other side, the dining room and lounge are lined with familiar board and batten siding in neutral modern tones. Its back wall accented with a pair of display shelves to bookend the large screen media system which is fronted by plush pillows and oversized lounge chairs. Again a nod to modern comforts that yield a relaxing atmosphere.

Hovering on the cusp of the Gulf Coast dunes, the outdoor raised deck of the Rowe Bar provides to its visitors the same ideals of the original architect of the Pink Palace; an elevated pristine view of the crystal clear Gulf waters lapping onto the sugar sand beach. Adding individual fire pits and a long linear fireplace, the deck welcomes guests to enjoy day and night.
